Desert Lily
A fiery lily flower rises from a hot orange mist, and tiny fairy-tale turrets have settled on its petals. A bud hovers above the flower like a dancer, leaning gently towards the light. It is a painting about the strength of life that blossoms even where everything seems dry and scorched by the sun.

A word from the artist

What I love most in painting is the moment when life begins to emerge from an empty canvas. “Desert Lily” was born from thinking about flowers that bloom where nobody expects them. Plants inspire me, because every petal hides a whole architecture – arches, turrets, tiny gardens. I paint slowly, layer by layer, and I like it when the colour itself tells me where to take the brush. The warm reds and oranges here were like a sun that doesn’t burn, only warms. I would like this painting to remind you that you can blossom even in the hardest place.
